Trek-LIVESTRONG Finished Third in Team Time Trial

Trek-LIVESTRONG finishes third in the opening team time trial of Internationale Thüringen-Rundfahrt with a time of 20:40.08. The 23.7-kilometer course stretched around Bleicherode, Germany. The team finished only .07-seconds off of second place, slightly edged by LKT Team Brandenburg (GER). Team Jayco Skins (AUS) won the stage with an impressive margin of 58 seconds (27:42). The six-day race continues tomorrow a 148-kilometer course running from Bleicherode to Wasungen.

The Team

Welcome to the Trek-LIVESTRONG pro-continental cycling team, designed specifically for Under-23 riders. Created by Lance Armstrong as a project to develop the next generation of elite cyclists in 2009, the team continues to feature up-and coming-talent from around the world, including junior world record holder Dale Parker (AUS) and national champions Nathan Brown (USA) and Michael Vink (NZL). Under the leadership of ten-time Tour de France veteran Axel Merckx, son of the great Belgian Eddie Merckx, the team has developed nine riders to the WorldTour level to date including five-time world champion Taylor Phinney, former American champion Ben King and British national time trial champion Alex Dowsett. In an effort to support the team founder, Trek-LIVESTRONG will proudly ride under the LIVESTRONG banner, joining the Lance Armstrong Foundation in their global fight against cancer.
