VERSUS Names Ben King to the Week’s Top Five

Ben King (USA) is featured in VERSUS’ Top Five in cycling for the week leading up to the Tour de France. The American from Richmond, Va. earned the week’s highest accolades after sweeping both the critierium and road race at U23 Nationals in Bend, Oregon.

The Team

Welcome to the Trek-LIVESTRONG pro-continental cycling team, designed specifically for Under-23 riders. Created by Lance Armstrong as a project to develop the next generation of elite cyclists in 2009, the team continues to feature up-and coming-talent from around the world, including junior world record holder Dale Parker (AUS) and national champions Nathan Brown (USA) and Michael Vink (NZL). Under the leadership of ten-time Tour de France veteran Axel Merckx, son of the great Belgian Eddie Merckx, the team has developed nine riders to the WorldTour level to date including five-time world champion Taylor Phinney, former American champion Ben King and British national time trial champion Alex Dowsett. In an effort to support the team founder, Trek-LIVESTRONG will proudly ride under the LIVESTRONG banner, joining the Lance Armstrong Foundation in their global fight against cancer.
