A “Casual” Training Ride with…Lance

Austin-based teammates Lawson Craddock, Nate Brown and Gavin Mannion received the round-up call from none other than team founder Lance Armstrong on Tuesday morning. Armstrong who also calls Austin, Texas homebase turned to the the local Trek-LIVESTRONG riders for a “casual” 100-mile training rides in the rolling hills surrounding the Texas capital.

Armstrong founded Trek-LIVESTRONG in the fall 2008.

The Team

Welcome to the Trek-LIVESTRONG pro-continental cycling team, designed specifically for Under-23 riders. Created by Lance Armstrong as a project to develop the next generation of elite cyclists in 2009, the team continues to feature up-and coming-talent from around the world, including junior world record holder Dale Parker (AUS) and national champions Nathan Brown (USA) and Michael Vink (NZL). Under the leadership of ten-time Tour de France veteran Axel Merckx, son of the great Belgian Eddie Merckx, the team has developed nine riders to the WorldTour level to date including five-time world champion Taylor Phinney, former American champion Ben King and British national time trial champion Alex Dowsett. In an effort to support the team founder, Trek-LIVESTRONG will proudly ride under the LIVESTRONG banner, joining the Lance Armstrong Foundation in their global fight against cancer.
