ABOUT TIM…
How did you get started in bicycle racing?
I used to always thrash around on my BMX, then I bought a road bike because my older brother did and started racing not long after. I have been hooked ever since.
Tell us about your first race.
I was 14 years old and racing in under 17’s. I weighed about 45kg and had black knicks that looked like baggy undies on me. It was a 34km handicap race; they had me off of a handicap of 2 and a half minutes. I told them I had never raced before and they took a look at me and said that I should be riding off limit which was around 15 minutes. I rode with my group for a lap and then rode away not knowing what I was doing and won the race. That was the last time I was off limit…they weren’t happy.
What is your favorite memory or experience on the bike?
Winning Tour of Jelajah Malaysia this year
What is your favorite place to ride?
I enjoyed my recent racing and training in Italy leading up to worlds this year.
What accomplishment or career achievement are you most proud of?
Winning an International Tour within a couple years of open racing.
What makes you most excited about riding for the Trek LIVESTRONG team?
Riding with a good group of guys and having Axel and Lance there to support me.
