The Team

Welcome to the Trek-LIVESTRONG Development Team. Created as a project to help develop the next generation of great young cyclists, the Trek-LIVESTRONG Team features top up and coming talent, including national champion and US Olympian Taylor Phinney and leadership from ten time Tour de France rider Axel Merckx, son of the great Belgian Eddie Merckx. This year, in an effort to support Lance's historic return to professional cycling and the launch of worldwide cancer campaign, the team will proudly wear LIVESTRONG on their jerseys, helping to spread awareness for the global cancer fight.

LIVESTRONG

The Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) fights for the 28 million people around the world living with cancer today. There can be - and should be - life after cancer for more people. That's why the LAF kicks in at the moment of diagnosis, giving people the resources and support they need to fight cancer head-on. The LAF finds innovative ways to raise awareness, fund research and end the stigma about cancer that many survivors face. The LAF connects people and communities to drive social change and calls for state, national and world leaders to help fight this disease. Anyone, anywhere can join the fight against cancer. Join the LAF at LIVESTRONG.org.

Lance Armstrong and his senior squad Team Radioshack has spent much of the past week in the limelight while it met for it’s first training squad, but little has been said about the Tour de France legend’s Under 23 team Trek-Livestrong. With the fuss surrounding Radioshack’s new riders and gear dying down, the Under 23 riders took to the spotlight as the weekend neared.

On yet another glorious – albeit still cool – day in Tucson, Arizona team sport director Axel Merckx led the squad on a training ride. Riders taking part in the training ride included Cyclingnews blogger Taylor Phinney, Australia’s Ben King and Alex Dowsett.
